Tony George here from Midwest Sports with some sound advice as Football, the KING of all wagering sports, is right around the corner. While I enter my 11th year as a professional handicapper with an outstanding reputation for honesty in the industry (that is why I am here on Scores Daily), I can assure you that the scam artists and hype TV Kings are about to strike!

Words from the wise, here are some classic scams to avoid:

1. Avoid ANYONE who calls you direct out of the Clear Blue Sky!

2. Avoid 900#'s unless you can talk direct to the Service first hand. Basically they are long distance caller ID scams, avoid ALL in the USA TODAY, especially on Monday Night Games!!!

3. Avoid the "callback". That would be the classic "let us have your name and number and we'll call you right back"! If you give the phone number to them, get ready for a hounding you'll soon not forget, and get ready to get an unlisted number.

4. Avoid ANY Service that has different levels of clubs. Meaning the economic package, presidents club, executive club ect....The classic bait and switch scam is about to come your way, after you lose a couple grand first!

5. Avoid ANYONE who answers the phone "Sports". If they do not identify themselves and or their company HANG UP! You are in a boiler room operation!

6. Avoid "Special Information plays". This simply is a way for a scumbag to sell you on a big play and get more money out of you. These calls usually come after you are down and desperate, they know it and sell you dowqn the river. There is NO special information that these guys have, the do not even handicap games!

7. The big boys are the big boys, you know who I am talking about. They have the resources and money to go on TV and in every print rag and schedule known to mankind becuase they have made millions bilking gamblers out of their money offering nothing but losers to you. They have the best silver tounged devils in the business as telemarketers, and they will get their hooks into anyone they can. AVOID THESE GUYS! They are the ones that make legit guys like me guilty by association.

USE COMMON SENSE! Use a legit, documented service with experince and a name heading up the operation you have seen on large gaming portals.
